I just got my new iMac 27" with the corded keyboard; should this have come with the extension cable for the keyboard? I know that Apple has one (it has that special little notch on the USB connector), but I can't find one in the box -- does this have to be bought separately?

Thanks for letting me know (kind of a shame though, it's very short cable).

If you buy a corded keyboard, it comes with the extension. I guess they figure that the default cable is long enough to reach the back of an iMac. My desk is 32" deep with the iMac at the very back and keyboard at the front, and the cable is plenty long enough. The extension is probably included for use with a Mac Mini or Mac Pro. You can get inexpensive generic extensions.

I have to add that I bought my wired keyboard separately.
