Noticed today that my 'x' key isn't working. For every 20 times I depress the key, about 10 will register.

Anyone else have this kind of problem?

I have a Genius Bar appointment to take it in Tuesday. Are they able to replace the keyboard at the store?

This is my second failure with this machine. The first was bad RAM and they replaced the system board. Took 3 days to get an appointment and 3 days to get a service. I don't want to have to send it in.

This is for my 2016 nTB macbook pro.

I took my macbook in to the Genius Bar. They did the usual send to depot thing and got it to me after 3 days. The repair sheet said
- fixed 'x' key
- performed extensive cleaning, and
- machine now passes all tests

Keeping my fingers crossed.

Since this is my second failure in < 2 months of ownership, the guy at the Genius Bar said if something else happens they will look into replacing the machine.

There's been a number of threads, where the keyboard has issues such as what you posted. Hopefully the replacement works out for you
