Amazon's weights are generally in-package weights, not the actual product. It definitely doesn't feel much different weight-wise and I saw the 710 grams here -

Even so, it still doesn't give the MKB a weight advantage over the LCT, which is why I responded to @prospervic in the first place.

Having the Logi and the MKB for my M1 12.9 in front of me now, what I would consider -

Price
Cover material - Logi is fabric, MKB is slick vinyl
Cover with kickstand available when detached from the keyboard - Logi
Overall protection
Footprint when open
Function key availability
Elevated screen with MKB
Palm area on Logi is larger
MKB adds USB-C port for charging
Overall aesthetics (subjective)

For my use case, the only advantage I see in the MKB is the built-in USB C. A splitter dongle or USB C Hub/Dock negates this advantage. My considerations when it comes to the two are:

LCT
1. Protection on all the edges.
2. Being able to remove the backlit keyboard and still have iPad protected in a case with an adjustable kickstand.
3. The larger, multi touch click anywhere track pad. It's frigging amazing.
4. The material the MKB is made of splits, rips, smudges and marks up easily. The LCT material is tough and does not.
5. And last but not least, the really convenient full row of iPadOS shortcut keys, which the MKB does not have.

I realize this is all subjective which is why like @prospervic said, "that's precisely why we have different options for different needs and tastes!":);)

So far I'm pretty happy with the LCT, fine on my lap, yet to try it on public transport.
It does feel much chunkier and heavier than the bare iPad but it's well protected so I can just throw it in the bag and off we go.
Keyboard feels good and pretty Apple-like, impressive how pleasant the iPad is to use as a computer.
For 350 total I really got myself a bargain.

You must have the 12.9' iPad Pro. I have the M1 iPad Pro 11 and have no problems with using it on my lap.

And BTW, the Magic Keyboard weighs considerably more than the Logitech Combo Touch, so it "burst the bubble of the iPad as a slim/light device" even more so.

MKB

11" (1.81 lbs) + iPad Pro 11 (1.03 lbs) = 2.84 lbs

12.9" (2.42 lbs) + iPad Pro 12.9 (1.5 lbs) = 3.92 lbs

LCT

11" (1.27 lbs) + iPad Pro 11 (1.03 lbs) = 2.3 lbs

12.9" (1.72 lbs) + iPad Pro 12.9 (1.5 lbs) = 3.22 lbs
Not sure where you're getting your numbers, but they're a little off. On my scale the 12.9 IPP + Magic Keyboard weighs in at 2.99 lbs. (Online bloggers come up with more or less the same measurement, ranging from 2.98 - 3.0lbs).

Really glad it works for you. In my case I found the Logitech to be so heavy that it burst the bubble of the iPad as a slim/light device.

I got the info at Amazon, but apparently they count the packaging in the specs. The LCT and MKB weigh basically the same from what I found in further research, so the MKB really has no weight advantage.
