Keyboard for IOS - still no numbers row above the letters- what could possibly be the reason? (legit or not)

I'm genuinely curious to hear some speculation on this- why does ios still lack a numbers row on the main keyboard above the letters?

It's been requested and asked for - for years - yet here we are...

I agree, they should put the numbers above the letters to keep from having to constantly open the numbers then close it to return to letters. It is stupid, and when entering secure passwords, email addresses, etc, it adds a lot of extra taps as you have to toggle back and forth multiple times. I’m getting sick of “you’re holding it wrong“ mentality from Apple and I’m tired of the fan club members defending every stupid thing Apple does.
