Keyboard Glitch.

Text-Edit document, Helvetica specified, I use the Option Key with other keys, but instead of the usual option characters I'm getting either nothing or sometimes a Chinese character. And I get the same results no matter which of the two option keys I use. I've never had this trouble before.

Sounds like a missing font maybe. That's my best guess.

If i go back and putthe cursor in among the Chinese characters, the specified type changes from Helvetica or Futura to Ariel Unicode MS, Heiti SC, Songti SC.

I'm thinking maybe a system font (aka one that might not be visible) is missing or damaged and that's why it's acting strangely.
