Not sure why, but if I hold down a key, say the letter "c", it does not repeat itself. Meaning I can't get this i.e., ccccccccccccccccc, by holding it down.
I must continually strike the key.
Did I create this problem?
Thanks.

nope, it now works like iOS, if you hold down a letter you will get the accent version instead of having to remember if its opt or shift opt in order to type accents and alternate characters. I'm sure there is a way to turn it off.

The reason for this is the new implementation of tildes and accented letters, available by holding down a corresponding key.

For example, try holding down any vowel, or an n.

I personally like this feature. I've wondered why you couldn't do that before Lion.

As expected, your all on the ball. Thanks for the answer.
Not crazy about it, but at least I know I didn't cause it!:)
