Keyboard issues

Hi. 1st post here. Recently noticed that my keyboard is doing strange things. I have recently updated the software to Catalina however I’m sure this issue was happening prior to this.

when I press certain buttons on the keyboard for example
Backspace=mute volume
Space bar = /
Caps lock = p

any help? Sending me mad!
