So I have installed Virtualbox with Kali Linux on my Macbook Pro. My keyboard layout is Portuguese and Virtualbox's is English, so I wanted to change it to Portuguese to match my Macbook's keys. I went to "Input->Keyboard->Keyboard Settings..." and then this interface appeared (see attachment).
But this refers to the LANGUAGE itself and not to the LAYOUT. So when I change in here it only changes the menu to Portuguese and not the actual layout. Does anyone know what can I do to get the Portuguese Keyboard Layout on the Virtualbox?

You should be able to open the Keyboard preferences from System Preferences and then select the "Input Sources" tab. From there select Portuguese.

It is already selected. My Macbook is working with that. The problem is the keyboard in the Virtualbox. It is English and I cannot change it...

OK, I understand. Unless VirtualBox provides a way to change the keyboard layout, you're going to be stuck with the US English layout version. All virtual software packages work the same way.... in that they provide drivers for virtualization, which means you have to use what comes with the virtual software. I don't know if Parallels or Fusion allow different keyboard layouts either.

That sucks.. Thank you anyway! Guess I'll start getting used to memorizing the keys.
