QWERTY for I'd guess about 50 years.

But I sure wish that the key to the left of the A were Ctrl instead of Shift Lock. 🙁

that looks more difficult on mac - you can easily change your caps lock to control/cmd/option just by going to keyboard settings -> modifier keys.

Probably can also change it using some command line stuff? idk.

I am fairly sure on Windows you can modify the registry and change any key to any other key.

Thanks for the link, but no mention in the comments about the Caps Lock key.

You can change that...

I do just that on my MacBook, and I use a 22 year old Northgate Omnikey keyboard on my iMac which has the Control key in the "correct" location.
