Hi all,

I have a few keyboard replacements in iOS, on my iPhone, that I use for oddly spelt names and the like. Until recently, the same keyboard replacements were available on my iMac (macOS Sierra 10.12.1), presumably through iCloud.

Now, they have disappeared on my iMac and when I type a shortcut, my iMac does not automatically provide me the option to expand the shortcut into the full phrase using the keyboard replacements.

Can someone help me enable these keyboard replacements again please?

Thank you!

I've had all sorts of grief getting these sync'd consistently between my laptop and my phone. With me, they just stop synchronising though, they don't disappear from any device. Try the following in order:

First, on your laptop go to the icloud preferences and untick icloud drive. Wait a few minutes then tick it again. This might fix it.

Second, create a shortcut on your phone and see if that kicks the synchronisation back into life.

Third, untick icloud drive, delete everything in ~/Library/Mobile Documents/com~apple~TextInput, reboot, turn icloud drive back on.

Fourth, give up!

For me, the third option fixes it. It happens every few months.
