Hi all,
I have a first-gen MBr in dire needs of a new keyboard - luckily covered by the replacing program. Just to know: Do Apple insert the same first-gen butterfly keyboard - or do they upgrade it to the newest one?

Perhaps this is not possible physically?

Can you ask for it?

Anyone knows?

Morten

This isn’t a definite answer, but I’ve seen at least one 2015 MacBook that appeared to have the 2017-style keyboard with the different symbols on the Control and Option keys.

YouTuber Luke Miani had his 2015 rMB keyboard replaced, but it was the same generation butterfly switches.
