Hi All,

This is a way to quickly and easily maximise 2 windows against each other - so you can line up 2 Apps side by side on screen, but still have the top rows showing. I.e keeping the clock, battery etc. in view.

Especially awesome for external monitors, where you can comfortably work on 2 apps at the same time.

I found a good MacOS "baked in" solution to customise shortcuts - Using keyboard shortcuts options in the settings:
Web link: https://www.paulsahner.com/posts/window-movement

With the below screenshot key combinations, you can enlarge and move the active window to the left or right of screen. Not Maximse, but enlarged to use as much screen as possible and but still show the top bar including clock etc

However, is there a better combination of keys to be used, that won't conflict with existing key shortcuts?

E.g. Unfortunately, once Excel is selected, it bombs out. The below key combinations is used in excel to move from one tab to the next in the app etc.

I hope you can advise on the best combinations for this.

I was also toying with the idea of re-doing in the Window Maximise/Minimise shortcut to "ALT + DOWN or UP". but apparently that is already a standard macOS keyboard shortcut combination.

Best Wishes
Martin. :)

Hi All,

OK, I've done a bit of tinkering. :)

The below combinations works well with Excel etc.

Also worked out how to get the ZOOM screen - I.e. Window to largest it will go, but still keep the time etc at the top:
