hello, i spilt coffee on my apple keyboard rendering half the keys dead. so i'm using my old usb pc keyboard. It works fine but how do i open the cd drive on my G5 powermac? the only way i can do it is to open toast and use the menu option.

also what do you think my chances are of getting a new keyboard from apple, the computer is 3 months old so it's still in apple care. but then a new one is only £20

thanks for your help in advance.

your going to either have to buy a new keyboard, of see if you can clean that one up. personally, i would just shell out the money for a new KB and just try to be a bit more careful from now on

Take the CD icon on your desktop and drag it towards your trash can. The trash can will turn into an eject icon. Release the CD icon over the eject icon (where trash was).

Also ctrl click (or right click with two button mouse) on the CD icon select "eject name of CD"

ok, so this might be a stupid solution to the problem but...

just leave a cd in it at all times and when you need to put a different one in just drag it to the trash.

otherwise just buy a new keyboard

didn't os 9 have an eject up in the finder menubar? there is an eject in os x but it is greyed out unless you have a cd in.
