My keyboard is typing letters and numbers. It only happens on the first two rows, (i.e., q1, w2, etc.) I have checked the settings, they seem ok. Any suggestions on how to fix?

Do you mean when you type 'w' you get 'w2'? What type of keyboard are you using e.g., MacBook, Apple Keyboard, etc.?

It's an Apple keyboard. I just plugged in another keyboard and the new key board works. I must just have a bad board. Thanks for your reply.

Your keyboard is bad. Notice that the number keys are generally directly above the letter keys that you type. So, the keyboard encoder takes an entry from the top letter row, and then presents both that letter and the number above that letter key. It's a keyboard encoder problem that you can't repair. You will need to get the keyboard replaced. Easy if you are in warranty, just let Apple do it :D
