Hi
I've had my macbook for about six months now, but recently I've run into a password problem.

I was told about keychain and went in to show an internet password so my boyfriend could get on the network. It prompted me for my keychain password (which I've never set), I was told it was my login password so I typed that in. It didn't work. I've run first aid, I've reset my keychain password: it was the same as my login password and it still is. I can get it to show my mail login password, but it still won't work for internet network passwords. If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx

Yeah, your keychain password is the same as your login password unless you've changed it.

However if you reset your keychain in Keychain Access (in Applications/Utilities/Keychain Access), in Keychain Access Menu>Preferences>General. Then you'll have created a new keychain, so that any passwords will have to be re-remembered in the new keychain.

However the old ones will still be readable in Keychain Access, but not by other programs.

That still doesn't help me view the passwords. When I click on show password for any of my wireless internet networks it asks me for my keychain password and denies my password. I can't figure out what I'm supposed to be doing.
