You can output a Keynote "recording" with all of it's great effects to an .mov file that you can upload onto the internet.

Check it out. This is one I made. Please rate and comment if you like it!

If there is enough interest, I'll post a "how-to".

Cant agree more, I did this video
    in keynote

Granted it is just the intro, there is more, but keynote did a great job, it did the same thing that I would have done in motion had a been home, but in less time..

Wow. Excellent stuff. I assume you could just export some stuff to import into iMovie too, right? Could be a killer combo.

    not with the current iMovie...

maybe the old imovie, I think that it would be great if they took some of the great effects from keynote and put them into iMovie, then we would have something to work with.

So iMovie won't read a Keynote file that has been exported to Quicktime format?

    Ahhhhh... Gotcha.

I wasn't think about using iMovie to do anything exciting to the Keynote/Quicktime file. I was actually thinking of using Keynote to create a presentation-like intro to a film I create in iMovie. Something like the Dada Intro you did would be a great lead-in to a movie I create in iMovie.

Keynote also seems like a better way to create credits at the end of a movie... Much more control than iMovie 08 offers.

Finally, I have a reason to learn Keynote!

    Thanks.

    ah gotcha....

if you want to learn alot of keynote tricks, look at the apple included introduction to iwork, but instead of watching it, look at how they put everything together, its just a keynote file

Yeah, Keynote is an incredibly powerful tool. You can make awesome presentations/movie intros if you play around with it. (as others have shown)

    getting past music issue?

I made a video on Keynote and went to upload the video but i keep getting a message that reads that the video can not be played with the song inserted. I am assuming it's something to do with copyright (because it's a purchased song from iTunes) - but I wonder if there is a way to get past this so I can use the song I like, please?

    Thank you!

Music and image issues with Keynote onto YouTube

I think the music gets taken off by Keynote because it recognizes that an iTunes song is copyrighted. I'm not absolutely certain of that - but tmy music got taken off too. I ended up choosing to add one of the songs that YouTube offers to add to the video at the end of the process.

 Anyone know some advice for dealing with the video that became so blurry too?

I pretty much gave up with trying to perfect the video because I had spent way too much time on trying to correct the project... and figured I could try again on one of next year's community events.

    My project: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4CfVv3wdJKI

I really, really hope these kinks get worked out - because it is awesome that YouTube allows Keynote items to be uploaded as videos with music.

a trick that worked for me for getting past the copyright problem is to convert the format. but this only worked sometimes for me. it´s worth a try though. you can download Switch for free.

    QuickTime Pro

    1) I create this (hopefully) really cool keynote slide presentation
    2) I then export it to QuickTime
    then
    3) If I have QuickTime Pro, will it export to YouTube where I can then view it as created?

    I hope so ...
