On a new feature page describing enhancements coming to its Mail application on iPhone 4, Apple has included a section highlighting how email attachments can be opened in third-party applications. As an example, Apple has included an image showing a presentation with a dialog box asking if the user would like to open the attachment in Keynote.

Keynote is Apple's presentation application originally developed for Mac OS X as part of the company's iWork suite. The company made a splash when it announced an iPad version of iWork, including Keynote, Pages, and Numbers, for release alongside its new tablet device earlier this year.

The new promotional image showing an option of opening Keynote on the iPhone suggests that the company may be preparing to roll out an iPhone version of the iWork suite, although the company made no mention of such plans during today's keynote address at WWDC.

It would be nice to have them on the iphone. With the new screen i imagine they would look good

Might have been just an error in the presentation. I know Ipad works this way, and it shares the same OS. Although I would shorly welcome this if true. Then I could get rid of a couple of other apps I have.

Given the fact that it's currently available on the iPad, it makes sense that it will find it's way to the iPhone 4.

The specs page does show that the VGA adapter is now compatible with iPhone 4, so it only makes sense that Keynote would be coming.

Keynote on iPhone, clever pluggy thing that shoves in the bottom connector and has a VGA connector on the other end...

Sales presentations in Keynote flawlessly from my iPhone 4 to client projector?

I'll buy that, saves taking an iPad let alone my MBP!!!!
(err hang-on, that means I wouldn't buy an iPad... Stevie boy wouldn't allow that...)

God, I hope not! Can a phone just be a phone? Apple already very stupid with iMovie app.

You don't have to buy these apps if you don't want to. If you want your phone to be a phone, then so be it, but if that's the case, why do you even care about the iPhone to begin with? It's always been more than a phone and it will continue to evolve.

I knew this was probably going to happen, but speaking of iwork, a little disappointed with the keynote. No mention of iwork for the mac. I mean most on here have said that this was going to be an iphone OS only WWDC. I need to know about iwork 10. since MS did away with upgrade pricing and you have to pay full price - i was hoping for some information. I am probably not going to upgrade my office since full version will jump the price about $200. May stick with macOffice 2008 for a long while.

I hope the imovie app will be on the ipad as well. right now I have the reel to reel app, but it would be nice to see who competes as being better.

*lol*

This are no news. Same OS, same screen size, even the other hardware is the same (Apple A4). I recommend you delete these "news" as quickly as possible.

quick question. i currently have a family plan with my family w/ roll over minutes & texting. if i want an iphone, can i just pay $30 for data plan by myself since i already got minutes and texting and pay $200 for the iphone? or do they want me to get the whole $80 plan (minutes/texting/data)

It's just asinine to be using these productivity apps on a 3.5" screen. At this form factor, it's just good for casual use and gaming. All this development work, for instance iMovie, is just dumb waste of resources. Fine, I don't have to buy or download these apps, and I never will!

When Apple stated better corporate integration if this is true? I can imagine so many companies giving iPhones to there users for sales pitches etc. this is way to good to be true. there are already cables to attach the iPhone to a TV so this is such a no brainer and typically Apple style..simple and logical..

Well looks like my (pagar extra) will go to Apple and Movistar. (new iPhone and iPad with accessories) :D

I'd be interested in seeing the iWork suite on the iPhone. The feature set in the iPad version is more suited to the way I'd use it on the iPhone. I hope they beef up the feature set for the iPad. Track Changes, comments, fonts,...

God, I hope not! Can a phone just be a phone? Apple already very stupid with iMovie app.

News flash, people don't buy iPhones because they just want a phone. These are optional things anyway which makes your complaint all the more ridiculous. There's nothing that annoys me more than people who complain about things that have no effect on them, but benefit others.

No Verizon...buying Droid

I've been waiting for today to decide on upgrading my phone (upgrade avail. since last June). Since Apple isn't going to Verizon, I just ordered my Droid Incredible. My wife has an iPhone. Love the phone, hate the service from AT&T.

Well, seems like a ridiculous shot to show! Bit of a blooper I would say...

Still, I can't even begin to imagine making a keynote presentation on the tiny screen....

And yet another troll that recently joined MR just to complain. I think this is great, it gives you "options" where there weren't before. I agree that the screen will make it interesting, but no one even knows what the scope of this simple screen shot is. Wait till apple releases something and then judge it. Think what every thought about putting the full web on a smartphone, but yet apple and others found a way that works great.

At first, I thought we'd be seeing iwork on the iphone, but I think that it might just be a keynote presenter app. Docs, spreadsheets and presentations can all be viewed already, but a presentation is different in that it's something to be shared on a big screen. Maybe that's all this is. I certainly can't see myself actually editing a presentation on a 3.5 inch screen

An update of desktop version of iWork perhaps? There's MacOS too, right?
