Changed

It isn't there anymore. The screenshot is different now, says "Open in iBooks"

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5H11a Safari/525.20)

I'm not at all surprised, given that there's nothing the ipad can do that the iPhone can't (besides certain games).

iwork for ipad and now maybe for iphone sounds like apple is slowly giving up on their actually computers....
i hope not

It makes sense, looking at the specs page the iPhone 4 supports 1024x768 out from the dock connector->vga cable just like the ipad does. Connect the phone to a projector and deliver the presentation entirely from the iphone.

At first, I thought we'd be seeing iwork on the iphone, but I think that it might just be a keynote presenter app. Docs, spreadsheets and presentations can all be viewed already, but a presentation is different in that it's something to be shared on a big screen. Maybe that's all this is. I certainly can't see myself actually editing a presentation on a 3.5 inch screen

I think one of the most thought out responses. Makes perfect sense seeing how the updated the screen shot with iBooks now. I am sure Apple has looked into iWork on iPhone, but a simple viewer (iBooks in this case) would be much better for this type of thing.

Regarding the whole "is iWorks coming to the iPad" debate....

Sure I want iWorks on the iPhone 4 but the real question should be not wether or not its coming but since this new phone, the iPhone 4, has the higher processor, the new display, etc, shouldn't it run ALL the iOS apps that are "HD". I mean, didn't I hear Steve basically go on and on about how the phone is 'HD' without actually saying its 'HD'??

I'm confident to say it's probably not going to allow me to run the HD apps on my iPhone 3Gs but I have no idea WHY you just can't play it on the iPhone 4... Am I missing something but aren't the specs supporting it??

also not forget iOS4 also now supports wireless bluetooth keyboard

The announcement of new products always brings out the trolls.
But I really hope iWork (or at least Keynote) is iPhone bound.

Can't wait for iPhone/OS4 on the 24th!!

It's just asinine to be using these productivity apps on a 3.5" screen. At this form factor, it's just good for casual use and gaming. All this development work, for instance iMovie, is just dumb waste of resources. Fine, I don't have to buy or download these apps, and I never will!

I think your post is a fine example of dumb waste of resources.
