I'm wondering if the rear camera can take photos or just the HD video recording. It's kinda confusing.

it records video --that's it

Same here, What Ram, What camera ?.

I don't think we can get specs until a teardown. Even last month, no Apple employees knew the RAM in the 3GS or 3G touch. And Apple doesn't post the really good information like that.

Seen that the new touch has a LED retina screen and IP4 has an IPS if I recall correctly.

Typically, most places give 30 day money back. Costco gives 90 day. I belive Fry's gives 15 day money back.

Where did you buy it from?

I got it from an Apple store with the purchase of a laptop...

I wonder if it is a slower A4 CPU than the iPhone. Did he specify the speed of the CPU. And the RAM wasn't mentioned.

I'll bet that the $229 is 3rd Gen.

I'm SOOOO close to getting one of these, Apple really came through. Not a lot of disappointment with me. Mainly, the weak back cam(960 x 720 still pics), no mention of the amount of RAM, or CPU speed(is it the same as the iPhone). I'm not complaining or disappointed.

The website says 7 hours of video playback. I'm probably wrong but didn't the 3rd gen say 10 hours of video playback.

I was hoping that the base model would be bumped to 16GB.

But with only 8GB, it means I'll be waiting, until the 3rd gen really becomes obsolete due to software incompatibility, before I upgrade.
