Dear All,

My wife dove into her project for keynote--unfortunately, she did something wrote after hours of work. She has one slide with multiple windows--these multiple windows should be the separate slides. How does she turn these multiple windows into separate slides? I tried select all but that didn't do the job. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!

What are you referring to when you say, "multiple windows"? I'd like to help but I need a little more info, thanks.

Thank you, kind sir or madam!
There is a single slide, but in the "window" menu of this slide, there are multiple entries that she now know she wants to be separate slides. I can send you a screen shot if this wasn't clear enough. I can even upload the file if it would help--it's worthless to anyone else!

Dear SRacer,

Here is a screen shot showing the single slide and the multiple items in the windows menu. She wants each of the items in the windows menu to be separate slides.

Thinking of these individual images as "windows" may be getting in the way of your solution.

The difference between a slideshow/presentation app like Keynote and a traditional word processor or document layout program comes down to the way the end product is experienced - a slideshow can have multimedia elements as it will be displayed on a computer/video monitor or projected from computer to a display screen. A wordprocessing/page layout document is intended for paper or to be experienced on a computer as if it was on paper.

A single slide in Keynote is equivalent to a single page in a book, magazine layout, or brochure. You can create complex layouts for each slide, incorporating text and/or one or more images. Or each slide can be a single image/text message. How many images, the location of text, etc. is purely a creative/layout decision.

It seems we have a single slide with a multiple-image layout. It may not be possible to press a button and split that 6-image slide into a series of 6 single-image slides. It may be necessary to go back to the beginning - create a series of slides, each with a single image. You may be able to drag/drop an image from one slide to another. Or, select ONE image from that slide, Cut, then Paste that one image onto a new slide. Altogether, this seems to be a matter of redesigning part of the presentation. Nothing more.

OK, that is helpful. So it looks like you have a bunch of individual keynote files with a single image in each one and would like to combine them into a single keynote file with each image from those separate files on their own slide within this new keynote file.

If I'm understanding the issue properly, I'll see what I can come up with to help.
