I have a black macbook (2.0ghz, almost 4 years old) and OS 10.5.8. All of a sudden, the F1 through F7 (F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, F7) keys on my macbook keyboard are not working as they should. F1 and F2 seem to do nothing instead of changing the monitor brightness, F3 brings the text search function while I'm on firefox, F4 seems to do nothing, F5 reloads the page, F6 moves between the tab frame and the page, F7 turns caret browsing on/off. I restarted my laptop and it didn't change anything.

HALP!

I'm not at my my Mac right now, but somewhere within the keyboard settings in system preferences is an option to turn the FN keys on.

Oh, I must've accidentally set the function keys to standard. Whoops! Thanks :)
And yes, it was under System Preferences > Keyboard and Mouse
