Basically last night i spilt a bit of tea on the keyboard and it worked fine but this morning my C, X, S, W and Z keys dont work anymore. now i cant login to my mac at all because i need the C button for my password. I cant boot from disk and change the master password cos the C dont work.

If i plugged in an external keyboard, would the laptop recognise the keyboard before it gets to the login screen as obviously i cant login so i wouldnt be able to do any configurations for a keyboard?

I am letting it dry out now and hope that works as i'm out of warrenty for my macbook.

If it is a standard USB keyboard, then the Mac will recognise it even before proper booting and lets you press all the little startup commands out there, therefore you should have no problem using a standard USB keyboard to log in to your account.
