Apple should be focusing efforts on those non major chain brand retailers, getting all those smaller players onboard. No one ever needs to visit a KFC, there are plenty of good eating options out there.
I don't ever eat at KFC, but any store that begins to support Apple Pay is good news. If all the major chains can get on board, hopefully it'll help add pressure to more of the little guys to join as well.

It has nothing to do with Apple. At all. Apple's involvement is with the banks. Once a CC works with Apple Pay, it's up to the retailers to accept NFC payments. And that means Apple Pay, Android Pay, Samsung Pay and NFC CC.

That's not true. They just passed a law in North Carolina forcing fat people to eat at KFC.

Does anyone else really not care which retailer has implemented tap to pay POS. This should have been implemented everywhere years ago regardless of Apple Pay.

I feel like until Apple came along, both banks and retailers were okay with never supporting it. I mean, we tried it once before and it was a PR disaster.

Is this news? They've supported it in the UK since forever...
It is because in the US the terminal here doesn't show any NFC lights or contactless logo. The lights are physically there but NFC just wasn't on. The chip and PIN slot is on at some locations though. Still no NFC at those.

How about the other Yum brands, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut?

That means Yum would have to buy consumer facing pointing sales terminals.

Most restaurants have an obsession for the POS systems with the card reader on the side of a computer monitor... Not sure why, but they do.

Oh Apple, you evil genius you. You make it easier to get diabetes with :apple:Pay, then help treat the diabetes with Health Kit. Is there anything you can't modernize and monetize?

Paying with Apple Pay would be the fastest thing to happen at KFC...I stopped going when every time I went, it took them 15 minutes to make more chicken or biscuits because I ordered legs and breasts instead of the normal crappy thighs and wings or a few extra biscuits. Is it so hard to have extra chicken or biscuits ready?

Apple Pay is operating in a crowded field without any advantage other than their unique rather judgemental cult like followers. Roundly trashing any business they don't approve of, like KFC, simply highlights why a segment of the general public think Apple users are elitist snobs to be avoided.

Apparently two other competitors is a "crowded" field now. Interesting.
