The kid apparently did this at the Apple Store because he didn't have a computer at home. Clever of him. Hopefully, someone will donate a Mac to help him out.

no. it doesn't matter why he did it. he got over 100,000 hits on youtube, and didn't do it to get a computer

How do you know he hasn't done his homework? He might be top of his class at school for all you know.
I would sooner he spent his time messing about in the Apple store doing something which entertains millions of people than get up to the sort of trouble you often hear young people indulging in.
I could see this starting a little phenomenon. If he does it regularly enough and gets known well enough people will want to be in the background of the videos.....

in a well lit atmosphere it is more than possible to achieve the same picture quality on an iSight... It's all about lighting...
Yep, whenever I'm skyping anyone I always turn on my bendy 60W desk lap and point it straight at myself.
The picture quality is far and away better than anyone else's.
