I was responding an earlier thread over here https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1868229/

Kinda gave me an idea for an app, that I would find useful myself.

Given that the watch is worn on the wrist and has an accelerometer, it would be a great tool at measuring any stroke of the hand, for any kind of activity you could think of.

I think if I could keep track, during an activity, of number of strokes, frequency, etc... it could help improving my skills in that activity.

I am excited about this idea

Unfortunately, no developer has access to the accelerometer until the full SDK gets released.

That's one heck of a troll lol ;)

you'll need a female voice over to encourage you to move more, move faster, slow down.. etc well you get the idea

In all seriousness, the general idea is a good one, and can have a practical application: measuring each repetition during weightlifting at the gym.

The Apple Watch itself should use kinetic energy to charge it, that way when you're doing your umm reps, with the "shake weight", you could be charging your watch;)

Just like the Wankband
Google it:p

But the whole idea seems nuts if you ask me.

Stroke of the hand? I thought you had 2 girlfriends already.

A certain adult entertainment site is actually releasing a wearable designed to generate power from that particular motion. Apparently, it will have a usb out so you can charge your phone using alternatively generated energy.

yes but I shall prepare the future once they find out about each other through my dozen devices vibrating at the same time with each text, sexy pics syncing to every single device, etc... let's face it, mistakes are bound to happen

A calculator would be useful.

I will also contact the developer of i-Ruler to see if we can bundle it with his ruler app.

I am also thinking of integrating with ResearchKit, Apple just made it open source this week.

Already done :)

Have been using this app on my iPhone and iPad for a few weeks. Having the calculator and other tools available in the notification screen has been very useful.

The last update added support for the watch. Looking forward to trying it out when I get mine.
