I know I must be dense. At first glance all of these virtually the same.

You force me to poke around more:

Photos: I can see multiple selection. Picture taking seems identical. OK some interest in sending multiple pictures.

Camera: Missing it.

Maps: Missing it. Maybe the little dot giving the approx address. Not so interested. Doesn't seem to incorporate any Google Latitude features.

SMS: Missing it. Same bubble sitting there. Maybe the edit feature? That's something. You can now forward SMS messages as well as delete individual ones. VERY good upgrades.

Clock: Totally missing it. Same alarms, same 4 items on the bottom. I like it. Use it daily. Not complaining but not different. I believe the changes to this app were with the stop watch and how it handles split times.

Stocks: OK, now I see the 3 dots at the bottom. Got some news and stuff. Turn sideways get big chart. That's OK.

Mail: Missing it. Looks the same. Really? You can now search in emails and get a landscape keyboard.

Safari: Missing it. Looks the same. Looking harder I see the hold link and open in new page. Nice addition. Another small update is you can hit the lower right hand button and click the X on the only page you are viewing, and it brings up a blank page without having to do 6 button clicks to do that like before. Small but good upgrade, as I like closing Safari with only a blank page active.

iPod (iTunes): Looks the same. I believe now you can stream and download more content than before. You can also redeem iTunes cards now.

YouTube: Don't care. My kid might. Okay, but that doesn't mean the upgrades aren't there. You can now access your personal account instead of just watch videos.

I think your are overstating it, but I guess you could say that I am understating it.

You sure do have to look hard for any new features though. Perhaps that's the beauty of evolution.

But above all else, like some others have already stated, the true UPGRADE of this OS is not what you get out of the box, but the API's that the Developers get. The apps that are coming will be awesome me thinks.

Just have a little patience and wait and see what these new APIs for developers bring us then see if you feel this way.

Besides the new features mentioned above, some bigger then others but we are on the verge of getting some kick ass apps. For example streaming live MLB games is a huge upgrade, turn by turn directions is a huge upgrade and many others on the horizon.
