I purchased a Kindle Fire (original, not HD) for my mom as a Christmas gift. She is somewhat accident prone when it comes to electronics so I am looking for a good case for her. I am looking for a balance of protection and slimness as she will be taking with her when she travels.

So far I am looking at the Otterbox. I have seen iPads dropped on tile in the Otterbox with no damage so I am confident in the protection, I am just concerned with the thickness.

    Any other suggestions?

If it comes down to it, I am willing to add bulk as long as it is protected, within reason.

    Thanks and Happy Holidays! :)

I have Marware's MicroShell Folio Cover. The design is kinda like a Moleskine journal and has a band you can wrap around the front cover. Very flimsy feeling, but then it's a PITA to get it off afterwards because it's so tightly fitted. So I highly recommend it for that reason. :D Doesn't add too much bulk either.

This was the one I was looking at. Looks like a good balance between drop protection and slimness.

    Thanks!

I will probably order it this week, any other suggestions in the meantime?

Thanks! That's the first search I did, just looking to narrow it down some. :)
