I don't see it as a problem - I have quite a few kindle books on my iPad. I don't see why not being able to cut stuff out is such a big deal. Amazon's Kinde and probably B&N's Nook have DRM to keep people from simply copying the whole book.

To do that: Access to your "Kindle's" ebook library, you can change folder in "Settings" of Kindle app. Then right click on the ".azw" files and "open with", "Calibre". After few seconds of importation in "Calibre" just double-click on ebook, and voila.
