So for every 1 hour of active use, you have to be in motion for six. And we complain as it is about the battery life now?

Ooorrrrr, I could plug in my iPhone and be fully charged in about 2.5-3 hours.

Granted it's a start, but I don't think it'll ever replace batteries. Augment maybe, but not replace. We all said the same thing about fuel cells a few years ago, and it hasn't happened either.

Still, 1 extra hour of talk time would probably be equal to what, perhaps 3-4 hours of extra standby time? Even if that's as good as it gets, that's still useful. I do agree it's going to be a battery augmentation technique, rather than replacement.

The other thing we have to consider is that all these estimates are based on current battery technology. As battery technologies advance over the next few years, we should hopefully see a huge increase in battery life that can hopefully be augmented via kinetic energy.

And the gov should mandate every new construction should feature Solar Panels no exception. In 50 years we'll cut out most of the coal/oil powerplants.
