Havent seen it myself yet.I bought the production diaries DVDs though. In the diaries PJ says that there is going to be another trilogy. Its King Kong followed by Son of Kong which is next Juneish release I beleive. Then theres into the Wolfs den or something like that. This Involves Kong jnr going to Germany and messing up Hitlers army durning ww2.The third one is scheduled for December 06.The other 2 movies are being made with cash put aside by the movie company for a Chronicles of Riddick sequel. The Riddick sequel is no longer being made.

I hope he hasnt stretched himself to thin this time.Kong in ww2 does sound a tad corny eh.

in fact the Shelob is based on a particular spider [don't know which one!] that frightens the ***** out of Jacko.

You mean the actual design of Shelob specifically in the movie, right? Shelob herself was created long before Jackson was even born. :p

Jackson was joking there-- I remember reading about that when the production diary was on the web; I think that was on April Fool's Day.

(Googled)-- Yeah I was right-- here's the link from the Museum of Hoaxes.

My son and I finally made it in to see it, last night. We wanted to wait 'til we could view it in a large screened, stadium seating theater. We thought it was great, though every bit of 3 hours 7 minutes long. I was most impressed with Kong. There were some small plot holes, and I could have done without one or two insect scenes, but the one thing that really bothered me was Naomi Watts exiting her theater without a coat in the final scene. Whether it was intentional or not, her enjoying the sunrise from atop the Empire State Building with frozen NY streets below, and no coat, was a stretch beyond all the other scenes. At the end, I forgave Jackson for making it 187 minutes long. It was a great ride.

Please tell me you know this is a joke. If not, well, I guess PT Barnum was right... :p

Yes indeedy!! :p ;)

To be fair I'd read The LOTR trilogy some twenty years ago at the tender age of 9/10 -- sheesh, it's kind of scary when I think about in that respect!!!!

When you have a 25' gorilla holding you in the palm of his hands, I guess you feel all the warmth. ;) :)

I agree, it was a little stretched, maybe she had something to drink before leaving the theater.

She would look far less attractive in a coat. :p

So what will PJ's next film be? I love them :D

IMDb;

1. Halo (2007) (announced) (executive producer)
2. The Lovely Bones (2007) (pre-production) (producer)

So very true. She looked astonishingly good in Kong.

Speaking off, I saw the trailer for "DOOM." And I must say that it seems like a total rip-off of "Resident Evil."

Even one of the actors used to star in the original "Resident Evil" movie.

Hollywood has reached it point where its starting to cross movies and everything just seems way to similar, or maybe its just the "game turned movie direction" which would be the problem.

Thanks. So he hasn't got anything planned for directing yet? Snap. I love the 3 hour films at Christmas.

Don't worry about it, we're about the same age and the same thing happened to me as well... ;)

I love three hour movies. Wish there could be more of them...

Off the top of my head... (OMG another cliché! :p)

Dances With Wolves
Titanic <--- don't be dissin' this one. I love it!
Sound of Music
The Godfather I & II
LOTR Trilogy
etc...

Here's to the Crazy Ones

:D Ya, I thought of the palm angle, and the sexy angle. She was with the gorrilla of her dreams. But watching her climb the ladder alone made me shiver.

I agree - as long as they're good movies. ;)

Yeah, I've always enjoyed epic movies and don't mind the extra length at all. Even ones like Aliens and T2 which aren't super long, but longer than your average movie.

He's directing 'The Lovely Bones (2007)'. What was the big movie last holiday season?

Having read up on Lovely Bones, it doesn't sound like at LOTR or a King Kong. Meh.

There wasn't one last year.. just this year and the three before that one. I will miss PJ's epics.. I hope he makes something else in the KK/LOTR league.

No, it'll be another Heavenly Creatures. Which could be great... it'll do him some good to concentrate on something a little more intimate rather than post-production-heavy epics.

Aww. :p I like epics.. especially post-production-heavy ones. :)

Saw 'King Kong' last night. Fan-freaking-tastic. Unapologetically indulgent. Way too much fun. I sat through 'Titanic' five times in the cinemas. Think I'll have to make this one six times. Just to balance out the universe.

My grade: :D :D :D :D :D
