Found 120GB version of Kingston V300 on sale from TigerDirect for $60 US. Thinking about picking one up as a second boot drive for my Mac Pro (already has an Intel boot drive). It can't be the best but might be better than a 1TB Barracuda for close to the same money. Opinions?

I was looking at that too, but a bit of research this morning showed lots of recent complaints about the V300 - Kingston changed the NAND chips to slower ones and it's showing read/write speeds 1/4 of the original.

See Anandtech's article here - http://www.anandtech.com/show/7763/an-update-to-kingston-ssdnow-v300-a-switch-to-slower-micron-nand

Go for Samsung EVO - it's only $90 on newegg for the 120GB or go up to the 250GB

Very interesting article. Thanks for the heads up. I'll probably go for the Samsung but I think there are also some good deals at the moment on 256GB SSDs, so it might pay to search around a bit tonight. Matter of fact I saw a 500GB for around $185 somewhere (maybe it was Macmall) but it exceeded budget. If I find anything to write home about I will post here.
