By creating a magnetic field that can attract or repel ferromagnetic materials, but that's not important right now.

Yeah, I have decided to back the project and pledged $50 so I can get one for the wife and I.

It looks cool, but I don't think I'd get it, and $30 seems kinda steep for something that will only hold your earphone is place.

$2 - $5 is all I would even consider for a magnetic clip. This is dollar store knock-off material.

A collar clip works just as well.

As everything, I guess it is personal choice.

I use headphones a lot, most of the day in fact and having a well designed clip which looks great and will keep my headphone cables in order is well worth $30...................IMHO.

Those collar clips are useless!
