I just carry a plain ole generic Buck knife. I use to buy real Buck knifes but would end up breaking the blade prying something or other.

This is too unwieldy to carry around with me. I just thought I would post since it is my favorite. Which I refer to as the ultimate brass knuckles. It does get plenty of use as my letter opener though.

oh my god!

swing, and a miss...

not all blue pills are viagra, and a quick google just showed me that viagra aren't even round...

Is it valium? I hope it's valium with this knife fetish! :D

On topic, if I can be bothered to take my bag I carry a utility knife in it. I'm too lazy to take a photo of it.

I only buy knives with replaceable blades. Replacing the entire knife when the blade gets notched got old really fast.

I use the bottom one for opening packages. Not the exact models but I can replace the blade

I use a butter knife, for spreading butter....... :D

Is nice to see this kind of threads around. I'm a fan of SAKs (Swiss Army Knives) and knives in general. I really don't own a lot, but I sure use them a lot. Together my father and I own around 12 or 13, we even sharp them by hand.

Depending on where I'm going and what I'll do I carry a Victorinox MiniChamp or a Picnicker. I usually carry the MiniChamp, since carrying the Picnicker can be illegal on most situations - because of the size, 111 mm - but if I want to go camping, or use it around the house it's ok.

Regarding computers I use them to open my desktop PC or taking off the screws from the bottom plate of my MBP for cleaning, sometimes even for peeling some cables and other wierd stuff.

This is the most recent knife I own. Cuts veg faster than a jackrabbit on a date.

...but I have a flick back Chive or Onion or something and then a small Buck fruit knifey thing.

I have this Swiss Army Knife on my keychain:

It's come in handy many times. I love that it has a pen on it that slides out.

I just bought this Spyderco Ambitious:

I really wanted something small that would easily fit into my pocket if I needed to carry it somewhere. I really like it......it has a great handle and the knife has a nice weight to it.

I'm thinking of buying one more (yeah, just one more) knife that has a partially serrated blade. I think that would be very useful.

Edit: Ooo I think I just found my next knife purchase:

I really want to know - why? Utility knives are useful for a variety of reasons but all these decorative/non-decorative solutions to... what exactly? Do a lot of you find yourselves in situations where a knife is needed? Get hung up in ropes or stubbornly tied shoelaces an awful lot? Is this some kind of macho intimidation thing? Paranoia? Passive-aggressive attraction to perceived, uh, edginess? Semi-morbid collection fascination? What's the deal?
