Apparently you need 20 megapixels to get the same detail as good old film.

20 megapixels from a GOOD CAMERA I should add.

Despite i love Apple, i love Kodak so much that if kodak finds more ways to stay alive and be wealthy, it's good to me.
Why?
Because i want 35mm vision 2/3 to still be used for feature movies. The unbeatable image quality must not die.

Last time I checked, the iPhone doesn't take film - so I'm not sure what Kodak is all up in arms about.

Kodak's market cap is about $1.3B.
Instead of forking over hundreds of millions of $$$ like other companies, Apple could just buy it outright for cash, extract all the imaging tech needed (and that's some reeeeealy valuable IP there), and sell/dissolve what's left.

Playing hardball can hurt.

Eastman Kodak, along with Polaroid, effed themselves in the a in the early nineties and now they are scrambling.
