Kodak Z812LS HD Video

I just picked up a Kodak camera that also records HD in a MPEG 4 format at 720p.

iMovie HD 6 can import it although it takes 3x the video length to do so. Why is this?

iMovie 08 won't import it at all. Any ideas?
