In a thorough research note outlining Apple's plans for 2019, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo describes his outlook for the next iPad lineup. According to Kuo, Apple plans to release two new iPad Pro models, a 10.2-inch iPad, and a refreshed iPad mini, each equipped with an upgraded processor, later this year.

Rumors of a refreshed iPad mini ("iPad mini 5") have been consistent over the past few months. Apple in January registered seven new iPad models with the Eurasian Economic Commission, and at least some of these are believed to be the iPad mini. The others may be a new version of the low-cost 9.7-inch iPad.

According to Kuo, the 9.7-inch iPad will be bumped up to 10.2 inches in 2019. No other details on the "two new iPad Pros" are given, but a release would likely be later in 2019 given their relatively recent updates.

Will be keeping an eye on a refurb 2019 iPad Pro 11” when that time comes. I have used my iPad Pro 10.5 everyday for over 18 months. Best device Apple has made in years, and the productivity apps are so polished it makes for a great user experience.

I'm guessing these will use the A11, unless they go with an A10 for the iPad mini, which would disappoint the mini fans.
Here's hoping for A12. :) Truthfully though, I'm also expecting A11.** That would be decent, with a Geekbench score in the 10000 range. I would be quite disappointed with A10.

Here are my predictions from the iPad 10" prediction thread:

**It should be noted that A12 actually has a smaller die size than A11, because A12 is 7 nm and A11 is 10 nm. So if 7 nm yields are good, it could actually make sense to ship with A12, especially since the 2018 iPad Pro models are already on A12X, which is much faster than A12.

A12 would be even better, and even if it makes financial sense, I have a hard time seeing apple selling A12 iPads at the same time as the 10.5" iPad Pro with an A10X, unless they discontinue that model. We'll find out soon!

10.5" iPad Pro should be discontinued. I'm surprised it hasn't been already.

Apple..

Work on the software specifically for iPad usage please....

We don't need any new iPad hardware advancements right now...

iPads already have so much unharnessed power that it's bordering on ludicrous.
The blown up iPhone OS running on them is the problem...still

A12X and the new form factor would be tempting. I prefer the smaller iPads since I use them as an actual tablet. I’ll consider upgrading to a Pro when it can replace my Mac, if that day comes.

There's nothing stopping them from doing both at the same time. The hardware teams and software teams are different people anyway.

No way in Hades it will get A12X.

Blazer town!
9.7" 10.2" 10.5" 11" 12.9" with various resolutions? what gives?

Just keep three lines:
==============
7.9", 11" Pro and 12.9" pro price them accordingly. Apple may force budget iPad buyers to 7.9" with updated internals, then others with either 11" or 12.9" ~ makes much business sense than 5 different iPad product lines.
