It’s more the numbering that is starting to bother me. iPhone 16? Can we not give it a better name? The incremental numbering is getting really stale. At least we had the ‘s’ versions before.

Looking forward to this. Apple is the only company that can pull this off. I think we will also see a lower cost power button TouchID model, maybe that same year.

Funny to think the millions of R&D dollars Apple is pouring into removing the notch when 95% of iPhone users won't care either way.
Correct.

But as they do so, unexpected use cases and benefits are likely to emerge, leading to more future capabilities and features.

When they say "under display camera" they actually mean a camera that shoots through a hole in the display.

Then they throw a smattering of pixels over the hole to try to disguise the hole.

I'll tell you what... if you put anything over the lens of a camera... it messes it up. I don't care how much "Artificial Intelligence" or "Deep Learning" they put into the image processing.

There should never be anything covering a camera lens.

Now if they do have a way to process the image to eliminate any distortion caused by pixels over the lens... imagine how good the image would be if there wasn't a bunch of crap in front of the camera.

?
2026 Apple is going to launch an iPhone with a cameraless camera. It'll just be a slab of glass that takes amazing photos. How? Not even Kuo knows.

It is a constant annoyance for me that I pick up the phone the wrong way. Pick it up, screen doesn’t come on? Ah, upside-down… This happens even with the speaker cut-out on top when the light is a little dim.

If this rumour is true it will be even harder to tell which side is up, without feeling for the buttons. On the (old) AppleTV remote, which had a similar issue, you could attach a strap, and that helped. I wonder how Apple plans to solve this.

Outrageous slow pace of innovation following the steps of competitors and claiming « ours are better « … I think I might have enough

Pure utter guesswork by Koh, it could also fly and have a micro reactor battery... he's really really reaching with this. It'll be a foldable phone by then if anything.

‘All Screen” is the most obvious idea that should have been implemented yesterday

The problem is durablity - you need someting to protect the screen edges or else chips and cracks will be a problem.

Exactly. Yo can do away with the notch but that still results in technical issues since the space needs to be used for the camera and any other sensors built in. Covering them will degrade performance, and result in empty spots on the display when in use, which will be the new complaint. "OMG...My selfie looks like I have a pimple on my forehead..."

Now, if you could intersperse or combine the led pixels with light capturing pixels you might create a lens free camera that uses software to create the image and conceivably still have a good screen display.

I heard that the new iPhones in 2024 will come on a spring loaded system that springs out your ass….like this rumour … is this all this site has become ? listening to anyone with a twitter feed or YouTube channel like Luke Miami or john Prosser ???

I would like to see Apple focus on the design of iPhones like reducing the weight by using lighter stronger material and making the camera bump less of an eyesore or completely eliminating it than anything else.

I don't have this issue because the volume and power buttons are close to the top. I also have a screen protector with a notch cut out so I can feel the top of the screen even in the dark.
