It’s time for Tim to go. The “supply chain genius” does not seem to consider the longterm consequences.

But..Tim isn’t leaving, And I think you know that already, but I digress. But lets talk about what do we know v.s unrealistic projections. The success of the Watch is based on the future suppliers that Apple coordinated through Cooks supply relations. Say what you want, but don’t deny his expertise with what he has executed with logistics/coordination.

What got worse?
the battery case. button on the back doesn’t sit flush with the back side as good as the 1st gen. the lid wont stay open when you flip the case upside now. you can wiggle the lid when closed from side to side a bit (you can hear a light crackle when doing it).

I'd be surprised if Apple dropped iPod any time soon. It's a $199 gateway device into the App Store and an obvious on-ramp to an iPhone purchase down the road.

but for who? Parents could just pass down their old iphones to their children or buy them a cheaper Android device.

Parents are on the iPhone Upgrade Program or trade/sell their existing devices.

As for Android, it's the same reason why you see kids using an iPad. The parents make the decision and many parents prefer the Apple ecosystem.

Would have thought they would minimize their China exposure with the trade uncertainties now and in the future?

What issues do you have? The build quality is very good, exceptional even.

open the 2nd gen case and turn it upside down. the top lid will lose its rigidness and won't stay open all the way. sometimes when i'm in bed, the case closes when i try to open it. the 1st gen airpods case stayed open fully no matter how you rotate it. also the lid isn't perfectly aligned with the case, so it gets caught in my sweat pants pockets sometimes.

the 2nd gen button on the back of the case doesn't sit flush as much as the 1st gen. when i run my fingers over the button, it feels harsh.

check on Twitter, i'm not the only one:

It's just a case. Who cares? I just sling it in my back or backpack and don't care what happens to it as long as the AirPods charge.

I also do not buy a case for my case. That's just weird.

When I'm laying in bed, I grab my AirPods on the nightstand, and when I flip open the lid fast, it closes back up because the case is being held sideways. I have to open it slower or open the case upright.

I never said I bought a case for my case. I'm talking about the case itself that comes with the AirPods. Not sure why you brought that up.

I'm simply talking about build quality. If you don't care about that detail, that's fine, but it doesn't change the fact that the build quality degraded since 1st gen AirPods.

What you are talking about is a non-issue. The case is more than good enough. It protects & charges the AirPods when not in use & even has the wireless option for those that wanted it. There's nothing to complain about regarding the case at all.

My major gripe is that the AirPods Pro do not fit in my ears properly and I have to keep pushing them in to get a seal, regardless of which size tips I use. Now that is a real complaint shared by many thousands of people, if not more. It could easily be solved if Apple released some official foam tips.

I'm talking about build quality going downhill compared to original AirPods. This is a fact and not a subjective matter. Please stay on topic.

It isn't a fact.

I showed you a tweet of a literal comparison of build quality between AirPods 1 and AirPods 2 with supporting tweets and my personal experience to back it up. Unless you have some evidence to show these testimonies are all fake, it is a fact that the build quality (regardless of any functional issues) of newer AirPods have gone downhill to a certain extent for a growing number of customers.

Or do you not know the difference between being objective or being subjective on this matter.

It sounds like you’re trolling or just refusing to admit wrong here, so I’m done with this conversation, at least with you.

I haven’t been following the back and forth, but I do remember complaints about the original AirPods case as well. Whether this case has more or fewer problems isn't clear to me.

You certainly aren’t happy with yours (nor should you be) and I definitely would have returned them as well. Luckily, Apple is great about returns; you don’t even need a reason :)
