Wait isn’t the one chip for cellular, Bluetooth and WiFi or are they split I thought the Apple c1 is all of them

The longer I think about it I only realize that once apple will arrive to that holy grail of super tiny wifi, bluetooth and cellular connectivity while maximize battery life with the efficiency of their silicon I can assume we will see so many new form factor(s) breakthroughs, mostly in the thin (heat dissipation) & light (smaller batteries) departments.

can't wait for those next generation devices.

Between the C1 chip and Apple-designed WiFi chip, I think we’re going to be really surprised at the battery life the 17 Air gets. One thing Apple does really well is they design very power-efficient chips without sacrificing performance.

Of course, the other very popular Apple option is to subtract some battery (and thus battery cost) but leave the device at "same great price" (if not higher), yielding a fatter margin for Apple (because 46.9% is not enough). This also supports "thinner" objectives too.

Rumors suggest that the chip is called Proxima in-house. It may be included with the new "HomePad," HomePod mini, and Apple TV (Possible testing platforms before the iPhone 17) this year. Supposedly, it will also facilitate the mesh networking of matter devices within the home. In other words, with new HomePad, HomePod mini, and Apple TV devices you may get a faster more reliable home network. Pretty cool stuff! Probably be launched whenever they figure out the issues they are having with Apple Intelligence. Hopefully this year - my bet is with 18.4 in April.

Hopefully we see those silicon-carbon batteries that android phones have been coming out with. Those batteries would be prefect for the 17 Air since they pack more energy density in a same or smaller battery size
And the vapor heat sink on the 17 Pro! I doubt there will be room for that on the 17 Air, but it should give the pro a nice boost in battery life.

You have Ubiquiti to fill that gap.
I am looking at a Ubiquiti 2.5 Gbps Ethernet router but it seems they don’t share Apple’s commitment to power efficiency, as it runs at >90C. I’m staying away for now until they fix their power utilization issues, and will continue to use my ISP-provided gateway with my Apple AirPort Extreme 802.11ac WiFi mesh for now.

Saved costs on apple silicon, C1 and in house WiFi chip yet increasing prices to consumers. Apples margins must be looking impressive right now.

i mean.. first iPhone in 2007 was 499 dollar (corrected for inflation 760 dollar), iPhone 16e introduced yesterday 599 dollar so you get so much more phone for 160 dollar less. Not bad huh?
Adjusted for inflation and your comment looks good however these posts never consider the lack of adjustment in wages which have barely moved so relatively it’s a worse deal.

well, how they are going to name the custom made WiFi chip? W is already taken by the chip inside Apple Watches (W3 in Apple Watch Series 4 and later I believe).

Just what everyone needs on their phone -- 40Gbps speed. I mean, can I now watch a 2 hour movie in 12 seconds? It's basically a pointless feature.
