I think he just meant the 7 outsold the 7 Plus and down the line since they introduced Plus models.
Got you . I’ve always considered the top tier to be say 7, With the plus being a bigger size but not more premium product . Though if one views the plus as a higher tier, that makes sense.

iPhone X was great. but the XS has faster face recognition and the camera keeps getting better. After a couple great photo's of my kid etc. my wife who initially Poo-Poo'd about me blowing big money on upgrading yet again did agree that it is worth it - just for the photo's.

We spend so much time on our iPhones, it's expensive to upgrade, but really it is in line with the cellular service plan costs. It is an addictive product.
It's totally worth the money. Not even close.

There are things that are far more expensive on a per use basis. How about that $400 blender for smoothies? Or that panini maker?

Ok....
Well, it actually DOES come w/ a glass back. That was an article error. However, they seem to be holding up (the glass backs) really well in XS drop tests, so far!!!
Also, just to let you know- it’s certainly not as fast as 18w USB-C PD, over the wire charging, or anything... but 7.5w Qi charging is the same speed as the included 5w wired charger.

ha, I'd never be crazy enough to use the included charger. I've used a wired Anker 24w 2.4a charger for years. And that included piece of garbage charger is so slow to charge I'd hardly brag about "wireless" (And its hardly wireless based on the stupid wire still connecting to the charging pad) being as fast as that POS included 5w charger.

And let's also consider the loss of energy via wireless charging inefficiency. It's hardly good for the environment when multiplied over millions of iPhones the loss in energy. Seriously, it's ridiculous easy to plug in a lighting port jack, this wireless thing is silly.

Yep exactly how most folks will feel. Nerds here will care about OLED.
Oleds suck, they have screen burn in after a year. Just had my Note 8 screen exchanged under warranty from burn in just from watching YouTube videos. I will make sure to never buy a oled TV either.

People who throw money on stupid stuff like that are typically broke. Me and my wife both make very good money and we invest it in building a nice new house and other investments, not silly junk. Same goes with alot of the luxury car buyers, majority of them are broke and up to their eyeballs in debt.

RE: "iPhone XR pre-orders begin Friday, October 19 in more than 50 countries, followed by in-store availability on Friday, October 26."

NO ONE should be surprised if AAPL announces a "Single Lens Version" of the XS on Oct 18th, @ $899.

It's the common sense thing for AAPL to do.

OLED + 4 GB of DRAM = your Next-Gen, High-End SE !

Another fellow Anker fan!! =)
Lol, just ordered another PowerPort... the one w/ USB-C PD. LOVE that charger.
When I got my iPhone X, I got a cheap, but nice quality wireless charger from RAVPOWER... more to stem my curiosity than anything.
I fully admit that it’s a poor replacement for high-speed wired charging- the relatively low charge to try it out was worth the convenience factor of just tossing my phone down on my desk occasionally during the day, at times that the battery isn’t low & I never would’ve even considered plugging it in- I’ve just noticed that means I usually leave the house with it “topped off”. Kinda fun & handy! Lol, hope you don’t mind me playing devil’s advocate a bit...
IMO, at this point- any big move to wireless chargers is both a money sink, and a detriment to utilization of rapid charging technology... but, if you find a quality (Anker & the like) one in the sub $35 range, it may be worth it DESPITE the much slower charge times!

"He called Huawei the "major winner" as the only brand with a year-over-year increase in shipments during the October 1-7 holiday." How many of these are "burner" phone brands they sell in grocery stores and dollar stores?

Of all the available XR colors, I suspect the Product Red XR will do really well in China, as this color symbolizes ‘Good luck’.

Red and gold proved to be very popular , the Samsung s6 iron man edition was very popular in China . That was actually a very cool limited edition.

We'll see if the delayed XR missed out on sales during the Golden Week of Oct.

If it doesn't, I would be very surprised.

I doubt that all buyers pay iPhones in FULL.
I bought an iP7 from Sam's Club and I was required to do the installment plan by Verizon.

It is a serious problem in this country where individuals are not fiscally responsible with their own money and that includes those who are on welfare collecting benefits.

So people in China aren’t buying new phones because they don’t have triple lenses cameras or finger print sensors imbedded in the display? Please. This guy needs to find a new line of work. His research notes are getting more and more absurd.
He's the most accurate, and has an 8+ Year record of giving us reliable leaks. You guys ridiculed his predictions time and time again only to discover he was spot on.

Average income in china is $3100.

unfortunately that figure is per year.
Average income is a misleading number, since a lot of people in rural areas of China are in utter poverty, bringing the average way down.

The target market is not the whole of the 1+ billion people of China. The target market is the middle class and up, with the middle class representing over 30% of the population.

So while the target market in China is a fraction of the overall Chinese population, we are still talking about a number that compares against the entirety of the population of the US of A.

For example, right now, China is the second biggest market in the world for spending on movie entertainment. They are a significantly bigger market than any EU nation or England, despite China’s reputation for bootlegging. The new middle (and upper) class in China is spending money like mad.

Dunno about whole year data but 1st quarter data had the 7 Plus outselling the 7.

No one has unit sales for specific models except Apple.

There are lots of sales analyses out there which often get a very good estimate of unit sales, per model line.
No there aren’t. They are guessing. You have no clue how good they are or how often they are right, by definition, because it’s unknown.

I follow Apple more closely than most analysts covering it.

You can't have it both ways. I wasn't the person who initially brought up unit sales. You were suggesting that the 7 outsold the 7 Plus, but I don't see that posted officially anywhere. Also my point about the 7 Plus outselling the 7 was for a single quarter.

You are free to post your analysis of 7 / 7 Plus unit sales by the way.

I don’t have it both ways. I’m basing what I said on what Tim Cook said on an earnings call.
