Unpopular opinion but I prefer it with thr LCD screen since it has a better longevity. Since the mini is in a shaky demographic and Apple does little to address the feedback and doesn‘t understand why it fails after not having listened to feedback, LCD would be the best if you want to hang on to the last mini.

What I would like to see is to get a first-party case with a keyboard. I know that a touchpad would not be possible to squeeze it in as well, but a keyboard is possible, and other companies did it, too.
This would finally make me switch from my mini 5 which I am illegally using with the Smart Case as well, which makes it so much more confortable to hold.

I always bought minis in the past, but have skipped the 6 mainly because the jelly scroll was very noticeable to me... But my list is...

- Lower price
- Fix Jelly Scroll
or keep the price the same but...
- Change back to a wider aspect ratio
- Promotion
- More memory
- M1? Being able to use full screen on an external display would be cool.

Kuo says it will only be a spec bump, but then says it will be a redesign with a kick stand.

No wonder he gets a high hit rate with his crystal ball gazing. 2 way bet every time. 🤷🏻

Its a joke. Why do people keep posting his trash? He obviously just loves the limelight.

ProMotion is all I care for, everything else is gravy. I miss the handy size since trading my mini in for an Air a few years ago. The lack of PM on the Air keeps me from using it for specific tasks.

A faster processor and more memory woulld not entice me to upgrade. My Mini 6 is plenty fast for my needs. Promotion and mini-LED would entice me to upgrade.

I’m happy with my mini 5 but I would like to see some advancements:

1. Keep form factor the me but extend the display just a little bit more into the current bezel
2. A nice Apple-designed keyboard. I’ve used several and am using the Logi keyboard now which is fine but the mushy keys are a buzzkill
3. Face ID
4. OLED would be a nice to have
5. Usual minor process/memory bump

Giving the timing I'm guessing it will be A17, 6 GB, different colors and maybe they'll do something to reduce how noticeable the jelly scrolling effect is. I wouldn't count on much more than that.

Son loves his current generation mini. He is a constant user and reads continuously using it. He says he has not noticed the jelly-roll effect and finds it more than powerful enough for his needs. I believe he is likely a bit more representative of most mini owners than most posters here. He is not yearning to upgrade anytime soon. It would take more than a spec bump and a jelly-roll fix, or perhaps even OLED to entice him to a new model.

Honestly , I hate how Apple doesn't include the option for Pro Motion on these tablets ..hell, charge an extra $200 - why gimp a product?

From what has been released so far, the ipad Air got the previous gen M1 chip (with some overlap with the Pro), the Pro got the latest M2 chip and the Mini 6 got the latest A chip (in fact the only iPad with the A15). So the updated Mini should get the A17 if released in early 2024. They could put an M1 in it though which includes 8GB RAM.

Too small to be usable as an iPad.
Too large to be a pocket tablet.
Too expensive for all of the above to not matter.

Who tf buys the iPad mini?
A whole lot of people buy it. Some get it and some don’t. To each their own. Since getting mine, 256GB on sale new for $549. I sold my M1 iPad Pro 256GB since it was no longer being used. The mini just suits me better and use it all the time.
