I agree. A Mini that could fold in half and be an iPhone would be my most desired gadget.
So, in effect, something very similar to the Galaxy Fold? If yes, I agree though the bulkiness of the Fold is somewhat of a deterrent, but then again, that may be the nature of the beast.

Yes, like the fold but thinner. Actually if you watch the last video from Marques Brownlee he showed a foldable like that and it was much thinner than the Fold. So it is possible. We live in exciting times.

No way a $499 iPad mini will get a M2 with 8GB of RAM, where did you hear that? I just hope it gets 6GB of RAM to make it more future proof, an A15 or A16 is enough.

should have an M1 chip all other specs the same. Maybe an update on the WiFi type to mimo 4x4. Other than that no mini led, would be too expensive adding 200+ to the base model.

I hated the screen coming from a m1 iPad Pro. Love the form factor, until the screen update I will sit it out until 2026

Yes, there are quite a few foldables available now. But aside from the Galaxy, the others are from Chinese manufacturers, who have either not yet released their foldables outside China and/or do not have access to the Google Play Store, which makes it difficult for a non Chinese user to use the device. And, from what I have seen, some of the Chinese designs are indeed slimmer and, I dare say, more elegant than the Galaxy Fold (for example the Oppo Find N).

Perfect size for many. hopefully, no more jelly scrolling on an iPad Mini screen.
Yeah, that was the only thing that kept me from getting one. If they add ProMotion to the seventh generation iPad mini, that might fix the “jelly scrolling” or at least make it much less noticeable. I’m just curious if Apple will give it an A16 or what I’m betting on, the A17.
