The 5.4" - if the rumor and mock up are true - is *finally* going to get all the SE, 6, 7, and 8 upgrades from people complaining that the 11 Pro is *just* a bit too big.

If the mockup is true, it's still too big. Fortunately, I think the mockup is incorrect and a 5.4" iPhone 12 would be closer in size to the SE. Still bigger, but not as big as a 6/7/8.

Man, this is getting a bit ridiculous. They're going to make buying an iPhone so much more complicated than it should be. Why can't they just stick with Pro and non-Pro? So 4 models at most if they really want to offer two sizes for each model.

There are 2 phones that come in 2 sizes, and a third low-end phone in one size. Not complicated at all.

Interesting.

So according to this chart (and assuming the 2020 iPhones use the "S" moniker) Apple is going to release the following:

4.7" iPhone SE2 (This is supposed to be released early 2020 as I understand it.)

5.4" iPhone 11s
6.1" iPhone 11s

6.1" iPhone 11s Pro
6.7" iPhone 11s Pro Max

So they are going to add yet another new iPhone with the 5.4" iPhone 11s.

Then replace the 5.8" iPhone 11 Pro with the the 6.1" iPhone 11s Pro, and replace the 6.5" iPhone 11 Pro Max with the 6.7" iPhone 11s Pro Max.

I am seeing 5.8" iPhone 11 Pro users being a little upset about that being gone, assuming this chart is correct.

This is a rumor. Apple has not announced anything, and it is likely that even Apple hasn't nailed down the lineup for phones that won't be released for almost a year.

Seriously??? No usb-c in 2020?

Yeah let's all get worked about a RUMOR about unannounced products that won't be available for nearly a year.

I fully agree with you. I have Xs and this is the biggest size I could tolerate. Making it bigger is a no go for me. I tried Max and returned it right away.
Bad news, hope it is not going to happen.

My iPhone 11 Pro is already slightly too big, now they want me to buy something even bigger to get the best camera?!

Only Kuo is calling it that and we have to see what Apple decided on.

I’m just calling it what they’ve been calling it in the articles. They could call it the iPhone Classic if they want. I’m just interested in it because I do not need all the bells and whistles and multiple cameras the other models have. My iPhone 6s does everything I need it to do, but it is beginning to get long in the tooth, so an updated model with up to date internals is all I really need.

These aren't products, they're "prdocuts" apparently.

The choices just keep getting more complicated. While I really do want a smaller phone, if the new SE model is the same size as an iPhone 8 I'd be better off getting the 5.4" 5G iPhone; it's just slightly larger but would give me a lot more tech.

I'm telling you, the 5.4 will be a smaller version of XR / 11, not a smaller verion of Pro. It makes perfect sense.

5.4" / 6.1" & 5.8" / 6.5" (0.7" difference between).

From the skies you can hear a former CEO saying, "Clean up the product line!"

I know choice is better, but in this case I don’t believe so.

Miss the days when the only choice was white or black.

Im all for more affordable iPhones, but this is just a few too many imo.
I think that this lineup takes into account the preferences of India, which is a very price sensitive market and fine with smaller phones, and China, which is divided between price sensitive and luxury and shows a preference for large displays. So they’ve got two versions of the 6.1” for China. Of course, we can’t be sure of anything at this point.

If you do the math, the 5.4" iPhone 5G would be about 95% the size of an iPhone 8. It's nowhere near the size of iPhone SE.

A small 5.4” non-pro OLED model is exactly what I’ve been asking for. Can’t wait for this! :D

Yeah, I really don't like that, if this is true, they're only giving you Large and HUGE sizes as options for the Pro models. A 5.8" model is the perfect size for a smaller pro. The Max/Plus-sized model can grow all it wants, but 5.8" is perfect. 5.4" is too small, and it sucks they're making it non-Pro.

Just give me a iPhone X style phone in the footprint/dimensions of the 5/5s/SE. How freaking hard is this, there are plenty of people who don't need a giant ass phone. That's why I have my ipad.
You can't fit a modern processor plus the room needed to dissipate heat plus the room needed for a battery that can run the thing in an enclosure that small. Sorry but end of discussion. Time to move on.

It is 5 models, which is the same number of iPhone models that Apple offers today.

8
XR
11
11 Pro
11 Pro Max

Each of these pretty much gets a 1:1 replacement in the 2020 lineup.

putting mmwave support in a phone is the dumbest idea i heard

Kuo: "This is going to be seen by millions. Let's make sure "product" has a typo on the headline of the page."

Looks like they're forcing folks who want a pro device to go with a larger size than what's available today. Probably because they have good data to back up the decision, but these small hands just can't comfortably manage anything larger. Glad I got the 11 Pro when I did!

Too many SKUs. Apple should just focus on one phone.
These "how to run a business" takes directed at the most successful company in the world always crack me up 🤣🤣🤣
