What about an 18 or 19 mini?
That being said, imho I don’t think this 19 Air rumor is at all reliable as no one knows how the 17 Air will sell.

Bro we’re like THREE iPhone generations away from this, how is it already leaked 🥀 stuff like this genuinely surprises me
They likely tentatively have 5-10 years planned out. Corporations don’t think in the short term. They adjust each year, for sure. But it’s mostly adjustments not radical changes to their plan. Industry and manufacturing take years to change.

I doubt that "intense competition, particularly in China" is the "key driver behind Apple's plans to adopt a bi-annual release schedule starting in 2026." IMO Apple has for years wanted to spread out its iPhone build/sell schedule. Not for reasons of "intense competition, particularly in China" but instead for reasons of production/sales efficiency.

It seems to me that all the folks asking for iPhone Minis are here on MR, because there seem to be very few out on the street actually buying smallish high end smartphones. It may be that the market segment that wants smallish high end smartphones also does not upgrade their phones very often, making that a poor market segment to build and sell into.

So if this iPhone is a complete failure like the 12/13 mini, do they discontinue it after two years or do they still ship the 2027 model?

Also, with that rumor of them bringing back the Smart Battery Case for the iPhone 17 Air, I’m having doubts that the battery life will be decent. Create a problem and sell a solution.

Maybe it will match the screen size of the Pro Max model. Hopefully the device will be durable and not susceptible to bending considering the increase in screen size.

Many people would like to get a smaller phone outside of this forum, but none of the companies offering one, so they have to compromise. Same goes with changing/upgrading phone every year, most of them will keep their phone much longer compared to people here.

I can only hope this means they'll also make a smaller version of the Air. I need a phone I can operate with one hand!

I think that’s pretty close to reality. Funny enough I keep meeting people recently with a Mini IRL… kind of surprises me, but they do exist (and they’re clearly a minority).

The Mini was from the 13 line. It's old now.
I'm not surprised you aren't seeing many out and about .
