Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo today predicted that an Apple Watch Ultra 3 and an Apple Watch SE 3 will be released in 2025.

Nearly a year ago, Kuo predicted that there might not be an Apple Watch Ultra 3 this year, and that prediction appears to be accurate. The only new Apple Watch announced during Apple's event yesterday was the Apple Watch Series 10, while the Apple Watch Ultra 2 received a Satin Black color option and the Apple Watch SE was not updated.

All in all, it looks like customers will have to wait until next September for the next-generation Apple Watch Ultra and Apple Watch SE models.

My major disappointment from yesterday.

I have an Ultra (1). The Ultra 2 didn't seem that compelling an upgrade, but I was hoping for minor things with an Ultra 3. Now I have to wait another year.

The dark Ultra 2 does look awesome but I can't "upgrade" to the same watch, just darker :(

Ah, such fun comments already!

Let's go back to the comments section on Kuo saying there might not be an Apple Watch Ultra 3 this year, all the way back in October 2023.

One of the first comments: "Kuo is getting bored. There will definitely be a new Ultra every year there will be a regular Apple Watch."

Kuo can't win on these forums.

The product releases have become unbelievably underwhelming

Hanging by a thread with baited breath for whatever Apple might "Cook up" has long stopped being worth the energy

It's really sad. The presentations and the products are so stale and lacking in innovation and the push forward now.

I predict that next year we will have a magical lineup with the most spectacular and stunning products never before seen in an iPhone. Apple will release an astonishing, industry first feature with breakthrough battery life, and a neural engine with graphics capabilities more powerful than ever seen before. All in a gorgeous form factor that makes it the best iPhone we've ever created.

I thought the Ultra 2 really didn't need to be released last year. This year, they could have released the Ultra 2 with all the features the current one has PLUS a larger display, black titanium, and other updates that the Series 10 received.

I have the Ultra OG too and aside from being surprised I am kind of happy because Id like to keep mine for another 2 years.

The dark does look nice but I also really like the look of natural ti. I have the new black MBP and the color looks really really good. When direct light hits it, it gets an almost deep bronze shine on it. I think its the nicest color that Apple has ever had on any product.

I think I would like a dark Ultra too but then I would need all new bands with black metal lugs and I don't think I want to replace them.

I am hoping for significant health features before I need to upgrade. And I hope they don't make it any bigger like the new AW10s but if I had to guess it will get bigger unfortunately.

That is fine by me. I would much rather have a major upgrade than a small incremental upgrade like we get with the iPhones every year.

Would have been a more impressive prediction if someone had said Apple was going to bother changing the AirPods Max to USB-C and giving them new colors while keeping the old H1 in it. Such a dumb move by Apple. We don't even ask for a new H3 in there, just put the same H2 that is in the APP2 so those spending $549 don't feel ripped off.

This guy's prediction for next year is obvious. I bet he is saying Apple will also release iPhone 17 next year.

except knowing Apple it probably won't be a major upgrade next year either.... slightly larger screen by reducing the bezels, new chip and a couple of other little software knick knacks. They'll ride the same design and form factor until sales really start to dip.

That was literally the prevailing rumor for nearly an entire year: https://www.macrumors.com/2023/10/29/gurman-usb-c-airpods-max-late-2024/

"Apple won't update the AirPods Max until late 2024 and apart from fresh colors and USB-C charging, no other major changes are expected."

Apple could have made an Ultra 3 with a bigger screen (shrink the bezels) and added S10 and it would have been a decent upgrade. Not sure what happened to stop them since some of the previous Apple Watch updates were just about as minimal.
