Was thinking the same. And I cannot think of any scenario where this might be useful.
I use minimalist split keyboard and Magic trackpad (instant RSI flare-up otherwise). Home office and office office both have proper big displays, so 99% clamshell mode.

Display-only MBP would be perfect.

Will come with two ports on the base model /s

Joking aside, I can imagine all the proprietary accessories (keyboards, mice) that would come with this.

I am thinking how this would be different rom iPad Pro 13 inch with a keyboard then realising that it won’t look nice or not functional. It has to be a mobile like Samsung Fold or Flip. You don’t want to mess around with iPad or MacBooks. People want to carry phone sized objects everywhere but to be able to work like Tabs (Tab Mini).

That concept makes zero sense. If they're creating one it's going to be completely different from that.

May I take this opportunity to say we should have a bigger iPhone? We’ve been waiting for a bump in size for a while.

They should just scrap this imbecilic idea. I had the Lenovo Yoga book for a brief period of time back in the day. Typing on that keyboard sucked ass and while it wasn't a screen, it was essentially a similar feel to typing on glass. I would never want to type on a flat screen for three reasons:

1. It's uncomfortable AF
2. I want less fingerprints and smudges on my tech devices, not more.
3. It's uncomfortable AF

We're always around. You just don't notice us because our phones fit in our pockets.
Oh, don't I know it. My phone fits in all of my pockets with ease and it has a 6.31" outer display and a 7.82" inner display. You must wear tiny clothes with tiny pockets. I don't mean that as an insult either, I just don't understand how people can't fit smartphones in their pockets in 2024.

Who asked for this in the first place? 🤦‍♂️

Who asked for a thousand songs in your pocket back when iPod was introduced by Jobs? Or for Watch when you could simply look at your iPhone for the time?

The above are just two of my favorite comments from the past.

Maybe something hybrid like the Asus Zenbook Duo.

This concept looks really nice for people working in the art industry. However programmers have no real use for this. This is going to be a finger print magnet. On top of that this could also be a promotional product to increase the sale of a specific kind of apple product released a couple of years ago. This finger print magnet would be a perfect candidate for the apple cleaning cloth. Is it even compatible with this trusted product we all know and love?

Unless it comes with a very impressive haptic engine and some really impressive technology to make my finger tips 'feel' the boundaries of physical keys, this device is a nonstarter. Typing on a slab of glass sucks.
Even with haptics, it will still be extremely uncomfortable. Like you've said, typing on a slab of glass sucks.

More like the Asus Zenbook DuNO. That thing looks like a heap of trash. I love and own several Asus products by the way, just so you know that I'm actually a huge fan of Asus. But, this thing, nope.

That’s why I led with “Maybe”.
For those creating visual content on the go it might be attractive.
Personally I’m happy using my 12.9 iPad with my 27” iMac and don’t need a mobile solution.

A bit of a new record for the tutti-fruitti, phoney-baloney, plastic banana, good time rock-n-roll Apple PR “leaks.” Remember, folks, an unannounced product cannot be delayed. This is nothing more than Apple PR manipulation, to astroturf how “bleeding edge” Apple is. Aw shucks, this product just wasn’t ready to delight customers and, golly gee whiz, we can’t wait to show this incredible new product to you. Stay tuned for the great products in the pipeline!
