While some iPhone 14 components are facing supply chain issues, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes the issues will have a limited impact on upcoming mass production of iPhone 14 models, which are expected to be announced in September.

In a tweet, Kuo said other suppliers can help to make up for component shortages. For example, Kuo said Samsung Display and BOE can largely fill the initial supply gap caused by LG Display's issues with the appearance of iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max display panels. Kuo also said it should not take much time for LG Display to address the issue.

All in all, Kuo's commentary is good news for iPhone 14 availability later this year. The lineup is expected to include the 6.1-inch iPhone 14, 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max, 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro, and 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Maybe one day I can become an "analyst" and repeat the same rumors from the same month of the prior year.
If you look at Kuo's tweet. He is well thorough and detailed. He even manages to break down which suppliers company is responsible for which components. It is a good piece of info on what's expected ahead.

More confirmation I made the right move getting the 13 Mini last year.

I have to say that this seems a bit unusual to have a reassuring quote about supply this close to typical rollout. This is usually where we get several assurances of SHORTNESS of supply to start ramping up worry about being able to get one... a key cog in the hype monster to feed sense of urgency.

My expectation is this will be swiftly followed by the formulaic rumor leaks that some key part is behind schedule... that some crucial element will not be available in good numbers until later in the year, etc so that everyone can be artificially worried about getting theirs in a reasonable amount of time. This works EVERY YEAR so I don't expect it to change this year.

Also soon: sprinkle in a few rumors about a shocking price increase, then relieve that outrage closer to launch or at launch by increasing it only about half as much so that the actual increase can go over pretty smoothly... even be seen as a bargain vs. what was the general expectation established by this trick.

Etc. We should all know the usual sequence of events. It works every time. Why will it be different this time?

My iPhone 13 Pro Max 1TB with 2 year extended/theft warranty and local sales tax was around $2080. This year the iPhone 14 Max Pro 1TB will probably crowd $2,300. My wife gets the 13 and her 12 goes to one of her daughters and the daughter's 11 goes........ and so on so we actually buy one new phone and various family members get a newer model. Always buy outright and have been using Verizon continously since 1988.

No new rumors from the BS artists on USB-C so probably delayed to the next year. I think the EU reg for USB-C kicks in for the 2024 models starting to be built in September 2023.

Why in tarnation do you need 1TB phone? Seriously curious.

Lossless audio, RAW photos, travel a lot and want a lot of their high res movies. I honestly only need 128 but everyone needs different amounts. I even read people hoping for 2TB

iPhone 14 Pro Max for me. My current is a iPhone X . It will be 5 years old in October so it's time for the wife to take it for a couple of years to replace her 1st edition SE. Got my use out of the X, and the jump in upgrades from the X, in the 14 Pro Max will be sweet . Hope for minimal delays in shipments

Seems my 12 mini will the last of my "smaller form factors" which I prefer over the larger ones, simply as it's easier to carry around.
It's been 2 years, so it will be time for the 14.
Probably will bite the bullet and get the 14 Pro.
I will be looking into the benefits of getting the bigger iPhones, i.e. even better camera and better battery life. The 12 mini is drains pretty quickly.

Agree. Kuo is an easy target - especially with our lovely MR family. 🤪
But his job isn’t as easy as some make it out to be. I think he does a damn good job connecting the dots - and that’s under the tightest lipped supply chain to date. He seems to have a good read on Apple’s production candence and rhythm, has a good vision for where they’re headed based on insider relationships fostered over the years and available tech (outside of just Apple but that may affect Apple). Are there misses? Of course. But he still feels more dialed in than most.

There is always this concern approaching fall. You will still be able to get an iPhone 14 by just keeping your existing phone which obviously have and is working just fine now. It’s not like Apple launches the iPhone 14 in September and all of a sudden, your iPhone XS just stops working.

When I decide to upgrade to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, I am actually gonna wait until March of 2024. Dust will have settled, the bad batches will be purged from the system by early adopters.
