I know I'm in the minority, but I actually prefer original AirPods to the Pros.
Minority or not, I concur. Much prefer the classic design AirPods over the Pros.

I recently bought Air Pod Pro. There are 2 issues. They are too slippery and it is annoying putting the wrong-side bud in an ear.
I like my Air Pods Pro.
It would be much better to say "Siri" instead of "Hey Siri".
Lastly, the reason ‘Hey Siri‘ is necessary, if by just using the word ‘Siri’ Only , there are a lot of words that sound like Siri, you’d be invoking Siri inadvertently all the time without {Hey} in place first. That’s why Hey Siri exists in the first place, is it recognizes those specific two terms together.
They need bigger batteries and longer battery life.
With headphone & lightning jacks going away, and the increased use due to extra phone and video calls, getting 1.5-2 hrs active use for calls and video chats is not enough.
If they’re ‘too slippery‘, then that means you either have a poor fit using the gel tips or you have moisture in your ears, I’ve never had an issue with slippery AirPods. Try changing the gel fitting, and it probably would decrease the chance of them slipping.
You Mentioned that you put the AirPods in the wrong side of ear, the way they are slanted/designEd, I’m not sure how you would even make that mistake to begin with. Especially if you take them out of the case to use them, how could you possibly put them in the wrong ear?

I don't see how it can, if they keep the same shape as the 2nd gen Airpods - the round part is filled with speaker and electronics, leaving only the stick part for battery (and microphone).I wonder if the new design will also include the much higher quality button cell batteries from the Airpods Pro.
YESSSSSSSS!
I know I'm in the minority, but I actually prefer original AirPods to the Pros. I like the smaller size, the lack of a bulbous in-ear component, being able to quickly tap them with the back of my hand (verses squeezing, which is harder to do with dirty/occupied hands), the lack of the odd vacuum effect, longer battery life, and that I can comfortably lie on my side in bed and wear them.
There are no facts in "A little Birdie told me"stories.Just a few days ago you said they’d be released next month!!! Get your facts straight please!!!
The design is what differentiates them from every other AirPods cloneI don't think you are in the minority. Most people do not like the suction cup feeling.
Personally I really like AP1 and they are still going strong. I'll probably pick these up whenever they come out.
All 13 million of them?Yup, as predicted. Same design with redesigned internal hardware to support new firmware. First gen Apple devices are so predictable.
How the internal microphone design ever made it to production baffles me.
Hats off to all the Gen 1 APP Beta Testers.![]()
Ummm so if they change the design on a future release - suddenly the ones you currently own and use will just somehow become unusable? If they discontinued that design I wouldn't be able to use them anymore.

1. It will be as long as another year before the new design is out and the current one is discontinued and unavailable anywhere.
2 You should also have several years left with the current pair you are using right now - under Apple's policies you can get replacement parts and service through Apple for at LEAST 5 years from the date of last manufacture.
3. NO ONE - not Apple, not Tim Cook nor the ghost of Steve Jobs is forcing you to change or buy anything!
The design is what differentiates them from every other AirPods clone

Can someone please explain to me how this date notation system works? Didn't learn this in school, can't find it with Google..
I think you misunderstood my comment. AirPods came out as truly wireless earbuds so once other people realized how popular they were of course they had to make their own version. I wasn't talking about the cheap clone ones made for kids that look like AirPods. Sure AirPods have as you say "superior functionality and integration within the Apple ecosystem" but so do Beats earbuds. The thing that separates AirPods from all other wireless headphones is they are designed differently where they don't seal off your ears. Why would I care what Airpod's clones look like? I buy AirPods for their superior functionality and integration within the Apple ecosystem.
"Sleek and sexy" does me no good when one or both constantly slip out of my ears and I have to pick them up out of the garden, my lawn, the floor of the garage, or worst of all, out of the garbage can that I just threw something into. Keep your sleek and sexy. What a shame. I get some people prefer the ear tip fit of the original, but the long stems look hideous and honestly laughable now compared to the sleek and sexy short stems of the pros.
Amen!Minority or not, I concur. Much prefer the classic design AirPods over the Pros.
Oh no, they're slippery, regardless of which tips I used. I ended up returning them.If they’re ‘too slippery‘, then that means you either have a poor fit using the gel tips or you have moisture in your ears, I’ve never had an issue with slippery AirPods. Oh, it's easy to do with the airpod pros. Believe me, it's easy to do.You Mentioned that you put the AirPods in the wrong side of ear, the way they are slanted/designEd, I’m not sure how you would even make that mistake to begin with. I do the swap thing if I'm on endless conference calls, yep. But really, the battery life is not too shabby to begin with. When I'm on a full day of calls I just alternate single airpods.
Charge one while using the other.
Swap.
Repeat.
(and who's said phones won't have any ports in the forseeable future?)
I think somebody else already answered. "1st Half of 2021". And this is actually standard lingo in business product and service timelines and lifecycles. You can go by Quarters (1st, 2nd, etc), or you can go by Halfs. Halfs is better when you don't want to pin yourself down to a mere 3-month period.1H21
