Someday the iPhone will return into a single camera on the back through a hybrid camera like this.

Am I the only one who read “ in new Meme posted by” instead of the memo. Expect an another meme about delays/ testing problems when the rumor is not gonna be true.

Ooh I really want the better zoom, but not keen on the Max size. But for various reasons, this will be my best year for an upgrade. Looks like I get to try a Pro Max for a year before going back down to a reasonable size 😬

Bring back the Mini. Some of us don't want a giant screen.
The LAST thing I want is a bigger screen (iPhone).
This means that I'll keep m mini until Apple no longer updated the software. Then, Ill get the smallest iPhone Apple makes.
I like a good array of features, but I'll always use my iPad for emails, internet, reading the news and books. nd I'll always have a Mac Desktop for the heavy stuff.
Camera? I'll use a pro-summer Nikon with the glass I already own. I'm lusting after the Z8.

12 Mini user here.

Last week, oft-accurate display industry analyst Ross Young claimed that Apple will adopt new screen sizes for both the ‌iPhone 16‌ Pro and ‌iPhone 16‌ Pro Max models. The smaller ‌iPhone 16‌ Pro is expected to have a display size of 6.3 inches, while the ‌iPhone 16‌ Pro Max will have a display size of 6.9 inches.

The current iPhone 14 Pro has a display size of 6.1 inches and the ‌iPhone 14 Pro‌ Max has a display size of 6.7 inches. This year's iPhone 15 models are all expected to retain the same dimensions as those in the iPhone 14 series, so the step change from the 2023 to 2024 Pro models would be an approximate increase of 0.2 inches for both devices.

This rumor pushes me towards getting the 15 to avoid being forced into the 6.3 size. I prefer to daily carry a smaller phone.

the problem with adding periscope lens is u would need 2 zoom lenses one at 3x and another at 5-6x so if u get away with one the gap with one is too large and samsung has had a 10x for many yrs so u will only be half way compared to samsung they use a doubly folded periscope. huiwei which invented and launched periscope lenses first in 2019 now has a new one which works with night mode. periscope lens have been terrible with night pics. google has even added a periscope to pixel fold which no one else is doing

moving forward some companies will try to fit in 3 zoom lens

To be fair, what do you think people do more with their phones: make calls, or take photos?
Personally, make calls. Could be an interesting poll!

I hope these rumors are true as I'll def wait for a bigger screen and hopefully a bullet hole camera and not the Dynamic Island Pill. If no bigger screen or same FaceID/Camera cut out then I will get this year's phone.

More screen real estate on an almost same sized phone would be great. Oh, and is a lighter phone wishful thinking?

iPhone 15 pro will be the same as the 14 pro with “the most efficient CPU in a iPhone ever…”
Only the 15PM will have the periscope.
Mmmmmhhh. Even 13PM takes photos with lower noise than my 14PM!, how is that an upgrade if tre aperture is smaller?. We are going backwards. Photos are kind of worse in several scenarios than last year and 15 will be the same fiasco. Great innovation, have you seen the Huawei p60?, THAT is a camera!

I had the TINY urge to upgrade from my iPhone 12 Pro Max this Fall but I think I might wait yet another year considering todays price points and that I just broke my iPhone 11 from work and they will probably give me a iPhone 13 now
My 12 Pro Max camera was really good. If the phone hadn't had a problem with the display rendering black as a weird shade of green, I might have stuck with it. The photos I took with it looked less over processed than the photos I've gotten since on 13 Pro and 14 Pro Max. Sticking with your 12 Pro Max isn't a bad idea.

pretty sure the 3x won't be gone anytime soon... i'd say they'd never implement a 0.5x, 1x and 6x ONLY... the 6x will be on top of the 3x - pretty sure about that. how? 48mp 3x and a resulting 6x with 12mp (similar to the 2x now) or: additional lens+sensor. or: variable zoom: 3x-6x. soon we'll know.

48mp 3x and cropping to achieve 6x would be contrary to the periscope camera rumor... so i'm excited to see what they come up with. maybe "just": 14PM with an additional lens+sensor that's 6x = 15PM

i'd love:
48mp 3x with 6x @12mp and: 10x @12mp (=additional lens+sensor)
The whole point of a true zoom lens is that you don't crop the sensor. Cropping isn't true zoom but digital zoom. Which is why beyond 3x on a 12mp it looks like crap.
