I'm hoping this is an easy one! - It didn't bother me much before, but once I picked up my TimeCapsule it became a bit confusing.

I purchased a MacBook in May and loaded it using Time Machine, from my old PowerbookG4. Ever since, my MacBook is "referred to" as "Users Powerbook G4 12 (2)." In turn, my new Time Machine refers to my backup file as "Users Powerbook G4 12 (3)." Ugh! Getting another computer in the house this week and I am afraid all of my computers from here on out will be refered to as Powerbooks! Tried to simply change the name of the TC backup file, and now it is creating an entirely NEW backup - "Users Powerbook g4 12 (4)!"

Where and how do I change this phenomenon?? System Preferences? I can't figure it out!

Thanks, in advance, for the help.

Ha! Awesome. That was easy enough.

Any thoughts on the totally strange subset of numbers TC creates after the name? "_00254bb70d36.sparsebundle"? I am assuming I need to throw away my old TC backup and start fresh now that my computer has a new name?
